Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you are here!
I am Simon or Shimon (they/he), a politicized healer, ritualist, and artist stewarding one-to-one and group embodied ancestral healing for the sake of personal and collective liberation. I identify as a white, antiracist, antizionist, queer, trans, disabled, neuroqueer person of the Ashkenazi Jewish diaspora living on Nipmuc and Pocomtuc land colonially known as Northampton, MA. My people are primarily from Lithuania, France, and Germany, as well as other parts of Eastern and Western Europe.
My healing path in this life began in earnest when I was 14 when I first lost my hair due to alopecia areata. This was the beginning of a long journey with auto-immune issues and learning to befriend, love, and come home to my body. I’ve gone from believing that there is something wrong with me — that I was the cause of my own illnesses — to understanding that like so many, my body/mind/spirit is entangled in the impacts of lived and intergenerational trauma and oppression. After three major cycles of burn out, I’ve learned I have certain limitations and gifts that required keen awareness and intentional tending. My body and intuition, as extensions and expressions of nature / earth / ancestors / the Divine, are my biggest and most beloved teachers.
After 20+ years of social and earth justice and embodied practice, I’ve cultivated a keen understanding of the physical, psychological, and spiritual impact of the trauma of oppression and the myth of supremacy. As such, it is my honor to work with fellow politicized healing practitioners, therapists, spiritual leaders, caregivers, and people working toward collective liberation as organizers, activists, political educators, artists, and movement leaders. It is an honor to offer radical care to people living with disability, neurodivergence, and/or chronic illness, including long covid and autoimmune conditions. I understand firsthand what it is to recover from burnout, addiction, and codependency through earth, body, and spirit-based healing.
My practice centers queer and trans folx and I work from intersectional feminist, antiracist, antizionist, decolonial, disability justice, harm reduction, and body and sex positive frames. Additionally, I follow the Ancestral Medicine Code of Ethics.
When I am not tending my beloved work, I can be found tending joy and awe while in my garden of culinary and medicinal herbs, veggies, and flowers, making herbal medicine for my mutual aide Beshert Apothecary, walking with human and dog friends in the woods, printmaking, cooking with and for beloveds, singing, and dancing.
